UDAP-GovNet Stakeholder Validation Workshop Paves the Way for a Digitally Inclusive Uganda
Kampala, Uganda – Yesterday’s Stakeholder Validation Workshop marked a pivotal step forward in Uganda’s journey toward a digitally inclusive future, under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project (UDAP-GovNet).
Held at the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U), the workshop brought together key players in the ICT ecosystem to validate critical studies focused on Mobile Broadband Deployment in Rural and Refugee Hosting Communities, Last Mile Connectivity, and Public Wi-Fi Access. These studies are central to developing targeted, sustainable solutions aimed at connecting the unconnected and enhancing access to digital services for all Ugandans.
NITA-U reaffirmed its commitment to creating a digital Uganda where every citizen, regardless of location or status, can actively participate in and benefit from the digital economy.
The strong turnout and engagement from partners such as Airtel Uganda, MTN Uganda, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Uganda Telecom (UCTL), ATC Uganda, TowerCo of Africa, and the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, highlighted the shared vision of a connected and empowered society.
As stakeholders reviewed key findings and recommendations, the consensus was clear: collaborative efforts and data-driven strategies are essential in accelerating digital transformation, especially in underserved and marginalized communities.
This workshop not only validated strategic direction but also strengthened the collective resolve to bridge the digital divide and ensure that Uganda's digital future is inclusive, resilient, and accessible to all.
