Advancing Digital Inclusion in Uganda: UDAP-GovNet Leadership Engagement Held in Hoima City

Hoima City, Uganda – A vibrant morning in the heart of the Oil City marked the beginning of the second regional leadership engagement under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project (UDAP-GovNet).

This engagement focuses on a crucial component of Uganda’s digital future—ensuring digital inclusion for vulnerable groups, particularly refugees in the 12 refugee-hosting districts and 13 refugee settlements nationwide.

Today’s activities bring together stakeholders from Kiryandongo and Kyangwali refugee settlements, along with representatives from key government institutions and development partners. In attendance are officials from the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), Ministry of Local Government, Uganda Police Force, Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, among others.

The event aims to deepen stakeholder collaboration, share knowledge, and identify actionable strategies to ensure that no one is left behind in Uganda’s digital transformation journey.

As discussions unfold, participants are highlighting the importance of multi-sectoral engagement in overcoming the digital divide and driving inclusive development, especially in refugee-hosting communities.

The UDAP-GovNet project continues to be a beacon of hope, promoting equitable access to digital services across Uganda.
