Uganda Advances Digital Inclusion with Stakeholder Validation Workshop on Rural Connectivity Studies

Kampala, Uganda – Today marked a key milestone in Uganda’s digital transformation journey as stakeholders gathered at Protea Hotel by Marriott, Kololo, for a high-level validation workshop under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project (UDAP-GovNet).

The workshop focused on reviewing and validating two pivotal studies:

1️⃣ Mobile Broadband Deployment in Rural Areas and Refugee Hosting Communities/Settlements
2️⃣ Last Mile Connectivity and Wi-Fi Study

These studies, rooted in comprehensive data collection and analysis, aim to shape strategic and sustainable solutions that address the digital divide in Uganda’s most underserved regions. Their insights will directly inform implementation by the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) through UDAP-GovNet.

The event reinforced NITA-U’s commitment to transparency, data-driven planning, and inclusive stakeholder engagement as the foundation for advancing digital equity across the nation.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our partners and collaborators including Airtel Uganda, MTN Uganda, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, American Tower Africa, TowerCo of Africa, OMNI, Japotech Solutions, and all stakeholders who actively contributed to this study.

Your dedication to Uganda’s digital development continues to inspire progress toward a connected and empowered future for all.
