Under the umbrella of its information security services, the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) offers comprehensive Cybersecurity Consulting to all government bodies in Uganda. NITA-U is mandated to ensure the secure transfer of information across public and private sectors as the country transitions into an e-government era. • Risk Assessment and Management: NITA-U conducts thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within government IT infrastructures. They offer strategic advice on risk management, helping MDAs to prioritize cybersecurity measures based on the severity of potential threats.

• Cybersecurity Audits: Regular audits are performed to ensure compliance with established cybersecurity frameworks. These audits help in identifying security gaps, providing recommendations for improvements, and ensuring that government IT systems are robust against cyber-attacks.

• Incident Response Planning: NITA-U supports the creation and implementation of incident response plans. This involves setting up protocols for quick and effective responses to cybersecurity incidents, minimizing potential damage, and restoring services swiftly.

• Support for CERT-UG: NITA-U operates the Uganda National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UG), providing a centralized point for incident reporting, analysis, and response across government sectors.
